The Black Line is Powerbar's new premium segment. And Iso Fuel is the new drink powder from the Munich-based sports nutrition pioneer.
With the latest formula of 1 to 0.8 (glucose to fructose ratio), Powerbar has managed to ensure that you can consume up to 120 grams of carbohydrates per hour from this product in order to avoid collapsing during a competition. The more you can consume under load and without stomach problems, the faster you will be and/or the longer you can keep going. A lot has happened in this area in recent years.
Of course, you should test it out beforehand during training and get yourself and your stomach used to it. In addition to enough energy, the drink also contains important sodium. The powder dissolves well in water and is also vegan.
The Iso Fuel has a lemon flavor and I find it goes down well, even in hot weather.
A little tip from me for the summer: freeze the finished water bottle before you set off, then you'll have something cold on board for longer. At the gas station along the way, I like to use ice cubes instead of water to refill the water bottles, which has the same effect as slush ice.
Powerbar has deliberately designed the Black Line so that you can combine powdered drinks and gels . Combine, for example, a portion of Iso Fuel 30 in 500 milliliters of water with a Fuel Gel 30 for a total of 60 grams of carbohydrates. Or more of these to bring you back to a maximum of 120 grams per hour. Powerbar makes this very clear with the grams that are in each portion. Of course, larger 750 liter bottles also contain more energy.
All Powerbar Black Line products are listed on the Cologne List® and tested and certified by Informed Sport (LGC) for banned doping substances.
