When customizing the cockpit, every little detail counts. A few millimeters and degrees help here and work wonders in terms of comfort, pressure distribution and aerodynamics. These angles from Profile Design help enormously. With them you can adjust the armrests independently of the rest of the cockpit, either at a 10 or 15 degree incline. This means that when you are in the “high hand position”, i.e. when you place your hands in front of your head, the elbow is once again fully exposed instead of just partially. And you have more leverage to claw your way into the cockpit if needed, similar to my grappling hooks. Another advantage of these little helpers made of aluminum: Instead of spacers, they allow the arm pads to be raised, for example if they have to go into the UCI window depending on the driver's height.
Anyone who drives older cockpit solutions, such as the Scott Plasma 5, also benefits from these angles. A few years ago the idea was to drive everything horizontally and the option of adjusting or "tilting" the extension and pad was not available planned. This solution now helps with the pad.
It is attached to the base handlebar with two screws provided, and the arm pads are then attached from above. The screws come from the arm pads and must be M6.
Another advantage to many parts from small forges, primarily from the UK: These angles don't cost a fortune.
The key data: 10 or 15 degree incline. 12.5 millimeters of lateral adjustability, in length everything from 13 to 26 millimeters of hole spacing can be operated with the included M5 screws.
Attention: These angles are NOT compatible with Profile Designs' own handlebars, but are intended for retrofitting onto third-party products! If you don't know exactly whether these parts will fit you, send me a picture of the current setup to service@derbaranski.de .
