The new RZ3 aero bottle from the pioneer in storage and hydration Profile Design offers 510 milliliters of volume and, thanks to its transparent material, you can always see how much liquid is left on board. It is also soft enough that you can get to the fuel quickly, and it has a pleasantly soft valve that you can open and close with your teeth.
I always have a concentrated mixture of carbohydrates in the aero bottle in the frame triangle, which is then diluted with liquid from other bottles behind the saddle or with water which is supplied on the course. This means you can set off with a low total weight and never end up in an energy deficit. Depending on the space on the bike, another good idea for this bottle size is cucumber water to combat cramps towards the end of the race or for triathletes before running.
Comes with its own bottle holder and fastening screws and fits on any mount on the frame and sits here rattling-free thanks to the firm hold and two rubber points. Nevertheless, it is not a feat of strength to get the bottle out of the holder and back in again, even in the hustle and bustle of the competition. Warning: I explicitly recommend not mounting this bottle behind the saddle, as it is difficult to grip here. And please practice drinking from this bottle and how it feels BEFORE the competition.
For everything behind the saddle, where two large bottles are often used because aerodynamics don't matter anyway, this bottle holder, also from Profile Design, is ideal.
For those who need to take care of it: This model is UCI-approved and BPA-free.
