Chains waxed with Molten Speed Wax are available here for all common drives, whether road, gravel, MTB or with a motor. The original Baranski chain in the MSW version, tuned by me personally.
I have been dealing with the topic of waxed chains for ten years, I have followed every trend, heard every claim from the wax suppliers, made every user error myself and now I still have it in my mailbox on a regular basis. A little more effort and an extra wash cycle are definitely worth it here. For me, everything is handmade for a reason!
This chain has enjoyed the full package of tuning:
- Degrease with several passes of white spirit.
- Finally cleaned using an ultrasonic cleaning device. In a really heavy device with a lot of oomph, hot water and ultrasonic cleaner.
- Final bath in alcohol to remove any remaining residue.
- The chain is now sparkling clean, free of annoying grease, abrasion, chips, etc.
- Swirled in liquid, hot Molten Speed Wax until the thin wax mixture is distributed everywhere.
- Dried and broken in again. The chain still needs to be broken in for half an hour until it runs really smoothly!
- The chain comes with a waxed chain lock.
If you don't know which chain and length you need, write me a short email to service@derbaranski.de with the groupset and gear ratio you use and whether you use a tuned rear derailleur with large rollers.

Between you and me: I have never had a buyer who wasn't thrilled with the wax and the finished chain.
And now comes the thing: A chain like this is pretty much the only tuning part that makes sense for Zwifting indoors, apart from cheating on the weight, of course. Because there is less friction loss there too. Plus, you don't get the couch and the expensive Persian carpet dirty with chain grease.
You can find my tips for initial assembly here in my blog . For aftercare, which is also necessary at some point, I recommend either re-waxing with hot wax using Molten Speed Wax or liquid lubrication using Dry Fluid Highend chain lubricant . You can't go back to oil at this point.
If you want to really delve deeper into the comparison of different chain lubrications, these tests are recommended, great work by the guys from Velonews in the USA and Zerofriction in Australia:

If you see something saying "sold out" here right now, just ask by email, the new ones are probably in the works and I'm on the job: shop@derbaranski.de.
