The original Baranski chain, now in the premium treatment with the brand new hot wax from Dry Fluid. Unlike other hot wax products, Dry Fluid takes a different approach to its formulation and relies on micro wax beads, ceramic particles and system additives. Until we had the final recipe, we tested very hard for over a year and rejected various mixtures. The whole story can be found here at Bikeboard .

The result is a wax treatment that no longer needs to be broken in, but runs and shifts immediately smoothly. It also has a very good service life even under adverse conditions and high torque. 1,000 or more kilometers are definitely possible.

Then, when the chain becomes audibly loud and the sliding layer wears off, the classic DryFluid Bike is added. Very similar additives are also used here, but with an alcohol as a carrier that evaporates after application. This liquid lubricant or Driplube has been my recommendation for years when things have to be done quickly or you simply don't have the time or inclination to hot wax. Here it is included in the bundle, otherwise the 50 ml usually costs just under 25 euros. The bottle is extremely productive if you use it correctly, i.e. sparingly.

Even though the chain looks like it's been treated with white Teflon powder, that's not the case here. DryFluid Formula S Chain-Ceramic is PTFE-free. The intense white coloring is based on the main active ingredient of the new development – chain ceramic. The flakes that initially fall off, as with all other hot wax products, are harmless, and the waxes used in this lubricant are even food grade.

Formula S Chain-Ceramic is a study of what is possible if you don't look at the price and the effort, but rather two nerds ( Rolf Jacobs from DryFluids and me) go full throttle and send lots of test chains through world history. Due to the complexity of this wax mixture and the many times higher cost of all ceramics and additives, this lubrication is available exclusively in my shop and only as finished waxed chains. Beforehand, they all went through the same complex procedure as my other chains that I waxed for you, i.e. degreasing with benzine in several passes, an ultrasonic bath and isopropanol. For the time being, this treatment is only available for the top chains from Shimano and SRAM and I suspect that it will regularly say "sold out", as is always the case with small series.
