The Tacx Shiva is one of the most frequently used water bottles. After producing my own bottles for the umpteenth time, I've settled on the "O2" version, which is made from sugar cane.
Tacx explains it this way: Sugarcane is a renewable resource that contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It's quite simple: As the sugarcane grows, the plant removes CO2 from the air. The sugarcane extract is used to produce ethanol, which we use to make green polyethylene that is 100% recyclable.
The volume, of course, is a whopping 750 milliliters. For me, that's the only true size for drinking bottles; anything else is homeopathic or cold coffee at best. Or have you ever tried to grab a small half-liter bottle while driving at speed?
This is either about one or three of them. Why three? Because summer's getting hot again, and you can pack the third one in your jersey if necessary. Unless, of course, you have this awesome Profile Design bottle cage behind your saddle, the Vise Cage solo, and another one in your frame for round bottles during training. In competition, however, you're better off with an aero bottle . Unless, of course, you're always sitting upright and waving to the spectators for hours.
A little tip: In hot weather, try filling your car with ice cubes instead of water when you set off. With luck, you'll have something like slush ice with a citrus or other flavor on the way. You can also find various drink powders for this in my shop .
And in case anyone else comes along with this: "Drinking is weakness" was yesterday's news and has always been nonsense. So cheers!
